North West Classic Tackle is dedicated to offering the
best equipment that is available for Fly Fishing and Hunting
and Plug Casting. Also we will offer books and other miscellaneous
items related to the fishing and hunting sports. Most if not
all of the equipment offered will have been used and tested
by myself and found to be the best gear available at present.
We will try to offer new equipment along with classic equipment
if the new gear has been found to be both useful and of good
quality.
I have been fly
fishing for 45 years and had my first love affair with bamboo
over 35 years ago. I got my first bamboo rod, which was a Hardy
Palokona in Frederickton, New Brunswick, when I was 16 years
old. It was an 8 foot 3 piece rod and was $60.00. I have been
an addict ever since. I was fortunate to have grown up in the
East and learned of Leonard and Orvis and Payne by working for
William Mills & Son in my high school years. I worked there
until the company went out of business and ended up buying the
name at the auction. I have published fishing & hunting books
under the name of Freshet Press and then found myself out West
where I was fortunate to meet Gary Howells and Andre Puyans.
I considered Gary to be the finest rod builder alive but he
is no longer with us. He died this past April and will be truly
missed.
I am always looking
for good classic tackle and will pay top value for one piece
